Date(s): 09/24/06 Description: Summer’s almost over, so of course it’s time for the Eco-Sangha’s first annual outdoor performance event! It will be held on Sunday, September 24, at Malibu Creek State Park, at 10:30 a.m. Featured is a staged reading of “The Imminency”, a new one act satirical play (about the “End of Days”) by nationally awarded playwright and All One Dharma member Devin Wallace. Live music will be performed by Devin and violinist Lydia Veilleux. The play will be “participatory”, with audience members singing and joining in some of the action (a short rehearsal will precede the performance). In other words, it will be Great Fun! The show will only last an hour or so, and afterwards folks can hike an extra half mile and go swimming at the wonderful rock pool (see attached photo) where part of the original “Planet of the Apes” was filmed, and continue on, if desired, another quarter mile to scenic Century Lake. The performance is free, although donations will be accepted (to go towards Lydia, our lovely violinist!). Space is limited, and therefore pre-registration is required. PLEASE CALL 310-384-9279 TO RESERVE. Location: Malibu Creek State Park off of Malibu Canyon Road. DRIVING, PARKING AND OTHER DETAILS WILL BE PROVIDED WHEN YOU CALL TO RESERVE A SPACE. Time: 10:30 AM Cost: No fee, but dana will be collected to cover the violinist's participation Coordinator: Devin Wallace, (310) 384-9279, devin@strokesocal.org
